Directed by Mike P. Nelson, best known for rebooting Wrong Turn, the new Silent Night, Deadly Night promises a dark, emotional, and surprisingly romantic twist on the cult classic. Set to hit cinemas on 12 December 2025, the film reintroduces Billy Chapman — a traumatised young man whose childhood Christmas nightmare sends him on a bloody path of revenge and redemption.

This time, Rohan Campbell (The Hardy Boys, Halloween Ends) steps into the red suit as Billy, with Ruby Modine (Shameless, Happy Death Day) playing Pamela, a reimagined lead character who brings new heart and complexity to the story.
“I wanted there to be a love story,” director Mike P. Nelson told GamesRadar, “but I wanted it to be a challenging one — something that makes you laugh, squirm, and question what you’re rooting for.”
Unlike the original’s straightforward slasher chaos, the 2025 version blends horror, dark humour, and unexpected romance, making it — in Nelson’s words — a “holiday slasher rom-com.” Expect snow-covered carnage, uneasy laughter, and just enough Christmas spirit to keep things disturbingly festive.

Filmed in Winnipeg, Canada, the movie premiered at Fantastic Fest 2025, where early buzz praised its slick visuals, strong performances, and emotional depth. It’s being distributed globally by StudioCanal’s new genre label Sixth Dimension, ensuring horror fans across the U.K. and Europe can experience this twisted Christmas story on the big screen.
Whether you’re a fan of the original cult classic or discovering it for the first time, Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025) looks set to be one of this year’s most talked-about Christmas movies — one that reminds us the holidays aren’t always merry and bright.
