It's the most wonderful time of the year again and the Hallmark Channel have been getting festive since before Halloween with their countdown to Christmas.
If you don't live in the US though you may have heard the term 'Hallmark Christmas Movies' or 'Hallmarks Countdown to Christmas' banded around but be unsure what exactly it means.
Do they simply air the popular Christmas movies we know and love each day up until Christmas?
The answer is no - there's way more to it than that!
Hallmark film and produce their own Christmas movies that all tend to follow a linear/classic story involving a problem, overcoming that problem and a new relationship over/in time for Christmas. They're generally easy watching feel good romantic comedy Christmas movies.
They produce so many Christmas movies each year that their channel runs a countdown to Christmas from late October through until Christmas playing movies from their archives. They usually show a few new titles per week on evenings.
Being from the UK, I too was curious to find out more about the Hallmark Christmas movie craze, and luckily The Take on Youtube have created a brilliant video which explains the whole thing in depth.
