Since the first movie arrived in 1994, many fans of the popular movie, starring Tim Allen as Santa, have grown through the years with the spelling of Santa Claus firmly stuck in their head as 'Santa Clause'.
If you are unsure why it's spelt this way, it is a key part of the plot in the movie and refers to the clause (e.g legal document) that character Scott Calvin agrees to when he wears the santa suit.
