A circulating image of a live-action poster for The Nightmare Before Christmas featuring Johnny Depp has sparked fan speculation about a potential movie. Contrary to a misleading post on Inside the Magic, claiming Disney had officially announced the live-action film with Depp as the lead, it was later revealed to be a fabricated April Fools Day' prank.

Regrettably, there is no validity to these rumors. The deceptive poster has actually been circulating online for years, even appearing in some video thumbnails. The actress depicted as Sally in the poster seems to be the same one from a fan-made video singing "Sally's Song" against a green screen.
There is no official statement from Disney regarding the possibility of a live-action adaptation of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Addressing any potential continuation of the franchise, Tim Burton, the creator, stated in an interview with Empire, "It’s nice that people are maybe interested [in another one], but [he’s] not." He likened himself to "that old guy who owns a little piece of property and won’t sell to the big power plant that wants to take my land," suggesting Disney may have expressed interest in continuing the franchise but has faced resistance from the original creator.
For now you'll just have to check out the confirmed 2024 Christmas movie release dates.
