We're entering the magical festive season as big brands begin to release their 2022 Christmas adverts as the Christmas Countdown begins, and this ad from UK supermarket chain 'Asda' is exceptional.
Featuring the most iconic Christmas movie character 'Buddy' from one of the best Christmas movies, 'Elf', it sees Buddy The Elf walking into a store and applying for a job at Asda. The advert impressively uses the original scenes from the movie and relates them to the narrative of the advert. It's been produced so brilliantly that if you hadn't watched the movie Elf you would probably think Will Ferrell Was actually starring in the advert.
Watch it and see for yourself below:
The advert is set to debut on Friday 4th November 2022 at 8.45pm on ITV1 in the Coronation Street ad break.
The Acting Chief Customer Officer at Asda (Sam Dickson) said:
"Like Buddy, we absolutely love Christmas, so we’re thrilled to welcome him to our team. We know this has been a tough year for so many people, which is why we want to create some little moments of joy for families this year with our Christmas campaign, and more importantly, our amazing products. We hope that with a little bit of help from Buddy, our joy-filled Christmas offering will create some festive magic and helps give families a Christmas to remember together."
We absolutely love this Christmas TV advert and have been left wondering, "how has this not been done before"? Hat's off to you on this one Asda.
