A forthcoming Gavin & Stacey Christmas special has been officially confirmed, set to air this Christmas (yes, that's right, 2024!).
Creators James Corden and Ruth Jones have crafted a new episode for the beloved BBC series, and filming is slated to take place over the summer.

This special follows the 2019 Christmas episode, where a cliffhanger involving Smithy (Corden) and Nessa (Jones) left audiences eagerly awaiting resolution. After an eventful introduction of the Shipmans, Wests, Nessa, and Smithy's son Neil to his new girlfriend, the episode concluded with a surprising moment as Nessa proposed to Smithy.
The 2024 special is currently in the pre-production stage, with filming scheduled for the summer. The episode will be produced by Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow, Ruth Jones's Tidy Productions, and Fulwell 73, a production company co-owned by Corden.
Based on past years, the episode is likely to air on Christmas Day after the watershed. We've created a countdown to the episode here.
