Whether you adore them or find them irksome, the Elf on the Shelf elves are making a return to households as the Christmas countdown commences. Bristol is elevating the festive spirit by introducing a colossal 15ft (4.5m) elf ready to engage in an epic round of "hide and seek." This yet-to-be-named elf will make appearances on various city buildings, treating onlookers to whimsical antics like unraveling toilet rolls or indulging in some holiday treats.

The organisers, Redcliffe & Temple BID, said: "Coming and going before the city awakes, residents are being encouraged to get up and find the new spot the elf takes."
They'll be uploading daily clues to their social media channels between 1st and 24th December.

This giant elf on the shelf creation was designed and built by prop and puppet-maker Jenny Simmons, Redcliffe & Temple BID and The Lumistella Company's official The Elf on the Shelf teams in the UK.
Head of Redcliffe & Temple BID's Steve Bluff said: "What better way to say Merry Christmas to Bristol than with a giant 15ft elf... we can't wait to see what Bristol names our very own The Elf on the Shelf."
