Oreo Christmas Truffles Recipe
Ingredients:
- 36 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz white or milk chocolate (or a mix of both), melted
- Red and green sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration
Instructions:
-
Crush the Oreos:
- Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
-
Mix with Cream Cheese:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until well combined and smooth.
-
Form Truffles:
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Chill:
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up the truffles.
-
Coat with Chocolate:
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between each interval until smooth.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or a dipping tool. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment paper.
-
Decorate:
- While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle red and green sprinkles or edible glitter over the truffles for a festive look.
-
Set:
- Allow the chocolate to set completely. You can speed up this process by placing the truffles in the refrigerator.
-
Serve:
- Arrange the truffles on a festive platter and serve. These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Tips:
- For an extra touch, you can drizzle some contrasting melted chocolate (white on dark chocolate or dark on white chocolate) over the truffles before adding the sprinkles.
- You can also use peppermint extract in the mixture for a minty twist, perfect for the holiday season.
These Oreo Christmas Truffles are sure to be a hit at any holiday gathering!
