Oreo Christmas Truffles Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 36 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz white or milk chocolate (or a mix of both), melted
  • Red and green sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration

Instructions:

  1. Crush the Oreos:

    • Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until well combined and smooth.
  3. Form Truffles:

    • Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill:

    • Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up the truffles.
  5. Coat with Chocolate:

    • Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between each interval until smooth.
    • Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or a dipping tool. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment paper.
  6. Decorate:

    • While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle red and green sprinkles or edible glitter over the truffles for a festive look.
  7. Set:

    • Allow the chocolate to set completely. You can speed up this process by placing the truffles in the refrigerator.
  8. Serve:

    • Arrange the truffles on a festive platter and serve. These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Tips:

  • For an extra touch, you can drizzle some contrasting melted chocolate (white on dark chocolate or dark on white chocolate) over the truffles before adding the sprinkles.
  • You can also use peppermint extract in the mixture for a minty twist, perfect for the holiday season.

These Oreo Christmas Truffles are sure to be a hit at any holiday gathering!
