This vanilla fudge recipe is super easy to make, only requires 5 simple ingredients and makes a whole batch of delicious melt in the mouth fudge. People won't believe you made this yourself. We've even been told ours tastes better than shop bought fudge.
First of all you'll need:
- A large pan
- A wooden spoon
- A silicone rectangular tray or metal tray with baking paper on top
The ingredients you'll need
- 500g caster sugar
- 410g evaporated milk
- 150g butter
- 2 tsp vanilla flavouring
- Reeses Pieces Pouch
Melt the butter
Chop the butter in to small chunks and melt it in the pan on medium heat.
Add the sugar and evaporated milk
Pour in the evaporated milk and sugar and stir.
Keep it on medium heat keep stirring (this is important).
Once you start to see the mixture bubbling, set a timer for 20 minutes.
Keep stirring until the timer ends.
The mixture should be much thicker and golden brown in colour.
Take off the heat and leave to cool for 5 minutes.
Then mix with an electric mixer for 5 minutes.
Add in the vanilla essence and whisk it through.
Pour mixture into the tray and scrape off as much as you can into it. Wouldn't want to waste any yumminess.
Add sprinkles (optional)
Add your Reeses Pieces (or anything else equally yummy) to the top.
Leave to cool for 3 hours. You can speed up the process a little by placing in the fridge.
Slice it up
Slice into cubes and enjoy.
The finished product
We sliced into varying size portions depending on where the Reeses Pieces were placed
