Peppermint Bark Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces (340g) of high-quality white chocolate, chopped
- 12 ounces (340g) of high-quality dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
Instructions:

Prepare the Pan:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Melt the Dark Chocolate:
- Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- Set the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
- Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it into an even layer.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.

Melt the White Chocolate:
- Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate in a clean heatproof bowl.
- Stir in the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract once melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted white chocolate over the hardened dark chocolate layer.
- Spread it evenly to cover the dark chocolate layer completely.

Add the Candy Canes:
- Immediately sprinkle the crushed candy canes or peppermint candies over the top of the white chocolate layer.
- Gently press the candy pieces into the white chocolate to ensure they stick.

Set the Bark:
- Allow the peppermint bark to sit at room temperature until completely set, or place it in the refrigerator for faster setting (about 20-30 minutes).

Break into Pieces:
- Once the bark is fully set, lift it from the baking sheet and break it into pieces of your desired size.

Store and Serve:
- Store the peppermint bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
