The first ever Christmas is recorded as being in Rome on December 25, AD 336. So it has been around for a very very long time.
The first Christmas celebration was during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. There isn't an offical person who created it but as it dates back to the Roman times, technically the Romans invented Christmas.
