Their advert is here at last, but this year it's a little different.

Since the launch of many company Christmas adverts last week with the likes of Buddy The Elf for Asda being our personal favourite, many people have been wondering when the retail giant John lewis's Christmas advert might make an appearence. Our guesses of when it might appear never happened but this year they announced the advert on Twitter.
It's a little different this year as they're working with 'Action For Children' and it's titled 'The Beginner'. It's set to a cover of Blink 182's 'All The Small Things' and shines a light on an often overlooked issue of children in care.

Which is your favourite?
This year, the John Lewis Advert features a foster family.
The Advert starts with a man learning the skateboard, and it is a struggle. The doorbell goes and the man looks at his partner in excitement and nervousness. Upon opening the door a girl is standing there holding a skateboard.
It is clear he has learnt the skateboard to have something in common with her and to help her settle in. This advert is less about buying things and more about kindness.
The final message is "Over 10800 children in the UK are in the care system"
