Last night during one of the advertising commercial breaks in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, a Christmas advert appeared that immediately sent the Cadbury Gifts Direct website into overload.
It was an announcement from Cadbury that their famous Cadbury Secret Santa postal service is back allowing people across the United Kingdom to send a free bar of chocolate to someone.
It's no longer a physical pop up store as they're replacing this with a virtual post service accessed via posters across the country.
To send a bar, you'll need to keep an eye out for one of their posters which will appear at 220 locations across the UK from November 14th to December 24th. They'll be in places such as shopping centres, train stations, bus stops and high streets. Scanning the QR code will take you through an interactive experience with assistance from the Cadbury postman (Jeff) who will help you select the perfect bar to send.
They'll be releasing a certain number of bars to each location every day throughout the day to make it as fair as possible.
They're keeping locations and dates quiet but have announced three of them on their Secret Santa website.
These locations have been announced for 10th December:
- Westfield, London
- Westquay Harbour Parade, Southampton
- Manchester One, Manchester
Emma Paxton, Senior Brand Manager said:
“Our much-loved Secret Santa ritual is back, and this year, it’s bigger than ever before. At Cadbury, we’re all about encouraging generosity – we believe there’s a bar and a half in everyone – so this year we wanted to make Secret Santa more accessible than ever and to spread that generosity across the nation.
"That’s why from today, you’ll see our postal service popping up on posters across the country, giving 120,000 people the opportunity to send chocolate secretly to a loved one this season. We hope that our campaign encourages the nation to get into the Christmas spirit and become a Secret Santa, helped of course by our wonderful postie Jeff.”
