Their 2025 Christmas campaign titled “Where Love Lives” arrives on 4 November, once again tugging at heart-strings with a beautifully shot, emotionally rich story about the unspoken connection between father and son.
Watch it here:
This year’s heartwarming story centres on the quiet bond between a father and his teenage son. The film opens on Christmas morning, with wrapping paper scattered across the living room. Among the chaos, one final present remains — a vinyl record labelled “Dad.” When he places it on the turntable, the familiar sound of “Where Love Lives” fills the room, transporting him back to his younger days.
As the music plays, we see flashes of his past — nights spent dancing in clubs, holding his baby son for the first time, and moments of laughter and connection. Back in the present, the father’s eyes well up as the song transitions into a new, soulful version. His son comes downstairs, unsure how to bridge the silence, until the two share a quiet, emotional hug.
Then comes the line that sums it all up perfectly:
“If you can’t find the words, find the gift.”
This year’s advert stands out not with spectacle or fantasy, but with its simplicity and emotional truth. It captures the struggle so many parents face — finding ways to say “I love you” when words fall short. By using music and nostalgia, John Lewis reminds us that the right gift can speak louder than anything we could ever say.
The soundtrack, a reimagined version of the 90s classic “Where Love Lives” by Alison Limerick, gives the ad a powerful sense of warmth and familiarity. It’s both uplifting and bittersweet, echoing the memories that make Christmas such an emotional time of year.
As always, John Lewis delivers what it does best — a story that makes you stop, smile, and maybe shed a tear or two. “Where Love Lives” isn’t just about Christmas shopping; it’s about connection, memory, and the unspoken love that brings families together.
Grab the tissues. The John Lewis Christmas ad for 2025 is another classic — nostalgic, heartfelt, and beautifully human. It’s not just an advert… it’s the start of Christmas.
